Today's grid · Wednesday, October 28, 2026 (ET)
Rows: JAX / NO / MIA
Columns: Played for DAL / Attended Penn State / Attended California
Each cell needs one player who matches both its row team and its column condition. You get 9 guesses for the whole board — the grid above is live and always shows the current day.
How to play NFL Grid
- Each cell needs one NFL player who satisfies both its row (team) and column conditions.
- You get 9 guesses for the whole board — correct and incorrect guesses both count.
- A correct answer locks in with the evidence: the seasons, college, draft round or stat that qualified them.
- Each player can be used only once per board; used players disappear from search.
- The board ends when you fill all 9 cells, run out of guesses, or give up.
A new daily grid releases every day at midnight ET. The same date always shows the same board for everyone. Prefer endless play? Unlimited mode deals random boards without touching your daily record, and every finished board unlocks a full answer review.
What counts as a match
- Played for a team — appeared in at least one regular-season game for that franchise, including renamed and relocated franchises (for example, Oakland and Las Vegas Raiders are the same franchise).
- College — the player attended that college (one consistent alias mapping).
- 1st-round pick — selected in the first round of the NFL Draft at any point in their career.
- Career stat — career total across all teams reaches the threshold shown.
- Season stat — reached the threshold in a single season for the row team.
Data range
Player pool: everyone who entered the NFL from 1999 on, judged on regular-season data only. Facts come from nflverse (nflverse-team, CC BY-SA 4.0). Team logos appear only to identify teams and remain the property of their respective owners. No player photos are used, and this site is not affiliated with the NFL.
FAQ
- Is NFL Grid free?
- Yes — the daily grid, Unlimited boards, the archive and every answer page are free, with no account needed.
- When does the grid reset?
- At midnight US Eastern time. The calendar date (ET) decides which board everyone gets, so all players see the same grid each day.
- Can I see the answers?
- Finish or give up on today's grid and a full answer review unlocks in the result panel. Public answer pages for past grids live in the archive from the next day on.
- Can I replay an old grid?
- Yes — every past daily can be replayed from the archive. Replays never touch your daily record.
- Do wrong guesses cost me?
- Yes. Correct and incorrect guesses both spend one of your 9 attempts, so guessing wisely is part of the game. Reusing a player already on the board is blocked for free.
